Tycaine and Meecha return to Tytanium Armour Recordings for their second collaborative EP on the label.

As the founder of Tytanium Armour Recordings, Tycaine possesses a sonic palette which goes hand in hand with the imprint. Alongside longtime collaborator Meecha, the two producers have carefully crafted a contemporary musical aesthetic influenced by late ‘90s and early ‘00s techstep, neurofunk, and hardcore.

The opening track, Imitation Code, commences with eerie, mechanical pads, discordant oldschool rave stabs, and a rapid, acidic arpeggio. As the track climaxes, huge snares, furious kicks, and a raw, industrial bassline set the tone for a dark and heavy EP. Mind Manipulation gradually descends from calm to chaos. Disharmonious atmospherics and downpitched vocal samples are combined with digital effects in the introduction, before a metallic snare and chugging bassline dominate the remainder of the tune as it rolls out.

Scanner Underground builds tension from the outset. Extra-terrestrial effects and warped vocals soon give way to a filtered reese, opening up as the track drops amidst full-on drums and percussive digital arpeggios. Turbinium rounds off the EP with chromatic stabs and a fluid bassline reminiscent of early Virus tracks as kick patterns oscillate between heavily syncopated and regular two-step rhythms, dancing around a metronomic snare and turbulent soundscapes. One timeless
piece of drum and bass.

The 11th digital release for the label soundly paves the way for future projects, including a 5th vinyl release and future 2 disc CD compilation.
